Description
A 1965 aerial view of Boston. In the lower part of the photo St.Clement Eucharistic Shrine is seen along with sections of the Fens, a parkland designed by Frederick Law Olmsted. The large highway seen throughout the photo is the Massachusetts Turnpike more commonly called ' the Pike ' or ' Mass Pike ' by natives. In the center Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox. In the center right, Kenmore square and Commonwealth avenue which travels along Boston University. Looking toward the horizon line are seen the town of Brookline and the Allston-Brighton section of Boston.
