Artist's Description

Vintage political ad from the 1952 United States Presidential election pitting Adlai Stevenson against Dwight D. Eisenhower. The ad reads " Don't let this happen to you! Vote for Ike! " and depicts a shoe with a hole worn through the bottom. The ad makes reference to the famous photograph of Adlai Stevenson, who, while seated had one leg crossed over the other. A newsman snapped a photograph of the pose and one could clearly see a large hole worn through Stevenson's shoe.
