WWII photograph taken not long after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7th, 1941. In the foreground the ruins of US Navy destroyer USS Downes (DD-375) and USS Cassin (DD-372) seen with the Cassin capsized against the Downes. In the background the battleship USS Pennsylvania ( BB-38).
